The Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) strengthened against the US Dollar (USD) at most commercial banks in the country today (February 13) compared to Thursday, reflecting a modest appreciation.
At Seylan Bank, the USD buying rate fell from Rs. 306.65 to Rs. 306.45, while the selling rate dropped from Rs. 311.40 to Rs. 311.20.
NDB Bank reported a decline in the buying rate from Rs. 306.15 to Rs. 306, with the selling rate decreasing from Rs. 312.65 to Rs. 312.50.
People’s Bank saw the USD buying rate slip from Rs. 305.84 to Rs. 305.79 and the selling rate from Rs. 312.58 to Rs. 312.53.
At Commercial Bank, the buying rate decreased from Rs. 304.11 to Rs. 303.86, while the selling rate went down from Rs. 312.50 to Rs. 312.25.
Meanwhile, Sampath Bank reported no changes, with the buying rate at Rs. 306 and the selling rate at Rs. 312.50.
The slight appreciation of the rupee across most banks reflects current market dynamics and currency demand trends.
