Marvel Star Simu Liu to Make Special Appearance at MEFCC Abu Dhabi This April
Fans of pop culture have reason to celebrate: Marvel’s Simu Liu is set to appear at the Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC) in Abu Dhabi on April 25–26, 2026. The Canadian-Chinese actor, best known for his role as Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will join an already star-studded lineup at the region’s largest pop culture festival.
Liu made history as Marvel’s first Asian superhero lead in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, earning global acclaim. Outside the MCU, he is widely recognized for his performance in the Canadian sitcom Kim’s Convenience and his appearance in the blockbuster Barbie alongside Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Fans at MEFCC will have the unique chance to meet him, take photos, and get autographs at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Joining Liu is a trio of other exciting guests. Christopher Judge, the voice behind Kratos in God of War, will headline as MEFCC’s first English voice actor guest of the year. Italian Marvel artist Federico Vicentini, whose work has appeared in Amazing Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Falcon and Winter Soldier, will take part in the Comic Creators Club alongside other global illustrators, writers, and emerging talents. Completing the lineup is American comic book legend Brett Breeding, known for nearly five decades of work with Marvel and DC, including iconic titles such as Superman, Spider-Man, and Thor.
