India booked their place in the Under-19 World Cup final with a stunning, record-setting run chase against Afghanistan in Harare and will now face England in the title clash.
Chasing a massive target of 311, the five-time champions reached 311 for three in just 41.1 overs, rewriting tournament records with an explosive batting display. Aaron George led the charge with a superb 115, while 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 68 from only 33 deliveries. Skipper Ayush Mhatre also contributed a steady half-century as India cruised to their 10th U-19 World Cup final.
Earlier, Afghanistan posted an imposing 310 for four, built on centuries from Faisal Khan Shinozada and Uzairullah Niazai. However, India’s aggressive approach quickly took control of the chase, sealing a dominant seven-wicket victory and setting up a final against an England side seeking their first U-19 World Cup title since 1998.
