Taylor Swift has confirmed that the music video for her track “Opalite” will make its debut later this week. Continuing the tradition of surprise-style announcements throughout her Life of a Showgirl era, the pop superstar unveiled a countdown timer on her official website pointing to the video’s release.
Unlike some of her past teasers, this rollout comes with clear details. The “Opalite” visual will premiere on Friday, February 6 at 8 a.m. ET and will initially be available only to Apple Music and Spotify Premium subscribers. The exclusive window will run until February 8 at 8 a.m. ET, after which the video will be released worldwide on YouTube.
Alongside the video announcement, Swift has also unveiled a limited-edition “Opalite” blue pearlescent vinyl, now available for preorder through her official online store. Fans can secure a copy until February 6 at 7 p.m. ET, or while stocks remain.
“Opalite” serves as the second single from The Life of a Showgirl and has already enjoyed strong chart success. The track debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has spent 17 consecutive weeks on the chart, currently holding the No. 10 position.
Swift released The Life of a Showgirl in October, and the album made history with 2.7 million units sold on its first day. It later surpassed Adele’s 25 to become the biggest album consumption week ever recorded on the Billboard 200. The project’s lead single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” arrived with a music video that premiered during The Official Release Party of a Showgirl and went on to become Swift’s 13th No. 1 hit, topping the Hot 100 for a total of 10 non-consecutive weeks.
