Noosa Heads has proudly earned the title of the most welcoming town in Australia, while also securing a place among the Top 10 Most Welcoming Towns on Earth, according to the 14th annual Traveller Review Awards 2026 by Booking.com. Notably, Noosa is the only Australian destination to appear on this prestigious global list.
The recognition is based on more than 370 million verified customer reviews and celebrates destinations that consistently deliver outstanding, heartfelt guest experiences. For Noosa, this honour reflects not only its stunning natural beauty but also the warmth, kindness and genuine hospitality of its people.
From Tourism Noosa volunteers like Bernardine and Wendy, to hospitality workers such as Tatsu, and frontline community figures like Noosa Lifeguard Isaac, it is the everyday interactions between locals and visitors that truly define Noosa’s welcoming spirit.
Tourism Noosa CEO Sharon Raguse said the award highlights the town’s long-standing commitment to welcoming visitors in a way that aligns with community values and environmental care.
“Noosa has a long history of embracing its visitors and sharing exceptional hospitality. To be recognised globally as one of the world’s most welcoming destinations is incredibly rewarding,” she said.
“This acknowledgement belongs to our local community, tourism operators and business owners who go above and beyond to ensure visitors feel genuinely welcome while respecting what makes Noosa so special.”
She added that visitors are drawn not just by Noosa’s beaches, national parks and boutique dining scene, but by the warmth of its people and the pride they take in sharing their town responsibly.
The Booking.com accolade highlighted that the awards celebrate destinations where guest experiences feel personal, authentic and genuinely cared for. Noosa’s relaxed coastal lifestyle, pristine national parks and thriving restaurant culture continue to attract both local and international travellers.
A standout example of this welcoming culture is the Noosa Visitor Information Centre on Hastings Street, operated by Tourism Noosa and supported by a team of 70 volunteer Noosa Ambassadors. One of its longest-serving volunteers, Bernardine Devereux, has welcomed visitors for over 25 years.
“I still love welcoming people to Noosa and helping them make the most of their visit,” she said.
“Whether it’s recommending a favourite walk, a local café or a hidden gem, it’s incredibly rewarding to share what makes Noosa so special.”
Booking.com’s Oceania Regional Manager Todd Lacey praised the achievement, stating that the awards recognise partners who consistently deliver warm, thoughtful and memorable experiences.
With this global recognition, Noosa Heads further cements its reputation as a premium destination where hospitality, connection and authentic experiences remain at the heart of every visit.
