Sharjah is all set to welcome the 15th edition of the Sharjah Light Festival 2026, celebrating Emirati culture and creativity. The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) has announced the early opening of Light Village, running from 29 January to 22 February 2026, ahead of the festival’s official launch on 3 February. During this period, the emirate will be illuminated with artistic light displays that transform landmarks into interactive canvases.
Light Village, a key attraction of the festival, will feature illuminated installations by international artists, a children’s play area, and a variety of interactive activities for visitors of all ages. This year, the village will remain open into the first days of Ramadan, extending the total duration to 25 days.
His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA, highlighted that Light Village enhances Sharjah’s reputation as a cultural and tourism hub, providing a family-friendly destination that supports youth initiatives, local entrepreneurs, and economic development. Over 75 national projects, including food, retail, and entertainment ventures, will participate, giving start-ups and established brands a platform to engage with visitors.
One of the festival’s highlights is the Light Experience Exhibition by Japanese artist Yasuhiro Chida, featuring interactive artworks blending light, technology, and creativity. Additional international light installations will be displayed throughout the village. Tickets are available at the venue and online here.
The official festival opening on 3 February will showcase light displays across 13 locations, including Al Majaz Waterfront, Aljada, Sharjah Mosque, Khorfakkan Waterfall, and Sharjah Fort. Over 13 nights, the emirate will be transformed into a vibrant hub of art and innovation, offering immersive experiences that celebrate Sharjah’s heritage, culture, and community spirit, making it a must-visit winter destination.
