UAE President’s India Visit

At the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, is set to make an official visit to India on 19 January 2026. This marks the President’s third official visit to India since taking office, and his fifth visit to the country over the past decade. The trip follows a series of high-level exchanges, including the visit of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, in September 2024, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE and Crown Prince of Dubai, in April 2025.

India and the UAE enjoy strong and multi-dimensional relations, built on deep political, cultural, and economic ties. Both countries rank among each other’s top trading and investment partners, supported by frameworks such as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Local Currency Settlement (LCS) system, and the Bilateral Investment Treaty. Their cooperation also extends to the energy sector, with long-term supply arrangements reinforcing the partnership.

The upcoming visit will provide an important platform for the leaders to expand the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and explore new avenues of collaboration. It will also allow discussions on regional and global issues of shared interest, reflecting the close alignment of perspectives between the two nations.
