Apple Partners with Google to Supercharge Siri AI
Apple has teamed up with Google to integrate Gemini AI models into a major overhaul of Siri, marking a notable shift in its traditionally in-house AI strategy. The multi-year partnership will see Google’s Gemini 3 technology powering future Apple Foundation Models, enabling a smarter and more personalized Siri experience.
The deal, reportedly worth around $1 billion annually, comes as Apple works to catch up in AI development. Despite promoting “Apple Intelligence,” the company faced delays that pushed the full Siri revamp to 2026. Internal tests showed Google’s Gemini models offered a more robust and scalable solution than Apple’s early efforts.
With Google’s support, Siri will gain advanced features already seen in competitors, including on-screen content understanding, multi-step task handling across apps, and personalized assistance using emails and messages.
