USA fast bowler Ali Khan has reportedly been refused an Indian visa, putting his participation in the upcoming 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in serious doubt. The news surfaced on Tuesday after the player shared an update on social media, sparking concern among fans and officials.
Khan, one of the most experienced members of the USA squad, posted a photo along with the caption, “India visa denied but KFC for the win,” confirming that his application had not been approved. His post quickly gained attention, raising questions about whether he would be able to join the team in time for the tournament.
The setback comes just weeks before the T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to May 8. The USA team is scheduled to open their campaign against India on February 7 in Mumbai, making timely visa approval crucial.
Several cricket outlets have also reported that three additional USA players of Pakistani origin — Shayan Jahangir, Ehsan Adil, and Mohammad Mohsin — have faced similar visa refusals. However, neither USA Cricket nor the ICC has released an official statement confirming the status of these players.
Ali Khan, who was born in Attock in Pakistan’s Punjab region, has been a core part of the USA bowling lineup across both T20 and ODI formats. At 35, his experience and pace have been vital assets, and his possible absence would greatly impact the team’s preparation and balance heading into the global event.
As of now, it remains uncertain whether the affected cricketers will be able to secure clearance before the World Cup begins. Both USA Cricket and ICC are expected to address the matter soon as anxiety grows over the team’s readiness and travel arrangements.
