Dubai is building a 93-kilometre air-conditioned pedestrian and cycling tunnel

Dubai has started constructing a 93-kilometre tunnel designed for pedestrians and cyclists, featuring air conditioning. The Loop will run across the entire city, aiming to make Dubai the pedestrian capital of the world.

The tunnel will include rest and sports zones, vertical farms, and a reward system for active users. By 2040, the goal is for 80% of Dubai’s residents to travel by walking or cycling.

This project reflects the city’s commitment to sustainable development and improving quality of life, potentially transforming Dubai’s transport infrastructure in the coming decades.
