Thousands of flights across the United States were canceled or delayed on Friday due to Winter Storm Devin, disrupting peak holiday travel, according to FlightAware.
As of Friday afternoon, 1,802 flights were canceled and over 22,000 delayed, with major disruptions at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport, and LaGuardia Airport.
The National Weather Service warned of hazardous travel conditions, forecasting heavy snowfall across parts of New York and the Northeast. Several airlines, including JetBlue, Delta, American, and United, canceled hundreds of flights and waived rebooking fees.
New York and New Jersey declared states of emergency, while authorities urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.
