Sri Lanka among top international destinations for Indian travelers

A recent report by MakeMyTrip shows that Sri Lanka has become the third most booked international destination among Indian travellers for the festive season, trailing only Thailand and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The report, based on booking trends from December 20 to January 2026 and compared with the same period last year, indicates a growing preference for Sri Lanka as a holiday destination. Thailand topped the list, followed by the UAE.

Vietnam saw a significant jump, rising from seventh place last year to fourth this year. Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Hong Kong completed the top rankings.
