Sri Lanka is set to host Pakistan for a three-match T20 series in January, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced on Tuesday. All matches will take place in Dambulla, marking a significant return for international cricket to the region.
According to the schedule released by SLC, the series will begin on January 7, followed by the second encounter on January 9. The final match is slated for January 11.
The confirmation of the series comes at a challenging time for Sri Lanka, which is still reeling from the devastating impact of Cyclone Ditwah. The disaster caused severe flooding and mudslides across the country, claiming 410 lives and affecting more than 1.5 million people.
Pakistan last visited Sri Lanka for a T20 series ten years ago, playing two matches at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo—both of which were won by the visitors. The upcoming series in Dambulla marks a fresh chapter in the cricketing ties between the two nations.
