Four newly elevated Additional Solicitors General from the Attorney General’s Department have officially taken oaths as President’s Counsel. The swearing-in ceremony took place before the Supreme Court, presided over by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, according to an Ada Derana correspondent.
The honoured officials—Sudarshana de Silva, Azard Navavi, Hiranjan Peiris, and Lakmali Karunanayake—received their appointments following nominations made recently by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Their elevation to President’s Counsel marks a significant milestone in their legal careers and strengthens the senior ranks of Sri Lanka’s legal fraternity.
