In a significant move to strengthen Sri Lanka’s healthcare and investment ties with the Middle East, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, met with top officials from the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group, a leading healthcare provider in the region.
During his visit, Minister Vijitha Herath engaged in high-level discussions with the executive team of the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group, focusing on potential investment collaborations in Sri Lanka’s healthcare and medical tourism sectors.
The Minister shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he had the opportunity to tour the Group’s state-of-the-art medical facility, which integrates advanced technology and AI-driven healthcare systems. He noted that such innovative infrastructure offers valuable insights into developing similar initiatives in Sri Lanka’s growing healthcare landscape.
Expressing appreciation for the contribution of Sri Lankans within the organization, Minister Herath remarked,
“It was gratifying to note the significant contribution of Sri Lankans to the development of technology utilized by the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Group through their development center in Colombo.”
The meeting also explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly through medical tourism partnerships, healthcare technology investments, and training collaborations that could enhance Sri Lanka’s reputation as a regional hub for quality medical care.
