Edelweiss Air Resumes Direct Flights Between Zurich and Colombo

The Embassy of Switzerland announced the return of Edelweiss Air’s direct flights between Zurich and Colombo for the 2025/26 winter season, marking a renewed chapter in air connectivity between Switzerland and Sri Lanka.

The inaugural flight touched down at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on 28 October 2025, warmly welcomed by officials and aviation representatives. The service will operate twice weekly, every Monday and Friday from Zurich, and Tuesday and Saturday from Colombo.

This milestone re-establishes a vital link between the two nations, fostering stronger travel, tourism, and cultural exchange. With the resumption of these direct flights, travelers can now seamlessly experience the beauty of both destinations this winter.

The route is operated by Edelweiss Air, in collaboration with Swiss International Air Lines and United Ventures (GSA).
