Dubai Launches New Drone Delivery Route in Nad Al Sheba

In a major step toward transforming urban logistics, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) and Keeta Drone, has launched a new drone parcel delivery route in Nad Al Sheba.

Under this initiative, drones will deliver food orders from Avenue Mall restaurants and cafés directly to Nad Al Sheba residents via a collection point at the Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque — marking a key milestone in Dubai’s mission to become a global hub for smart transportation and air logistics.

The route was officially inaugurated by Mohammed Abdullah Linjawy, Director General of DCAA, with the first drone successfully completing a delivery to the Nad Al Sheba area. The event was attended by senior officials from several key Dubai government entities, including Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD; Bader Buhannad, Director General of Dubai Silicon Oasis; and Sultan Butti Bin Mejren.

Speaking at the launch, Linjawy said, “This initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to embracing innovative technologies that enhance daily life. By enabling smart delivery lanes, we are helping build a sustainable, technology-driven future for Dubai.”

Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi highlighted that this project demonstrates how public and private collaboration can drive Dubai’s smart transformation goals, noting the symbolic role of mosques as evolving community hubs that adapt to modern needs.

Currently, Keeta Drone operates four routes in Dubai Silicon Oasis, and the addition of Nad Al Sheba represents a significant expansion of its eco-friendly, contactless delivery network.

The initiative operates under DCAA’s regulatory framework, ensuring strict safety and compliance standards while showcasing Dubai’s pioneering vision in integrating technology with urban living.
