At the invitation of the Government of Japan, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake—currently on a three-day official visit—is set to meet members of the Sri Lankan community in Tokyo today (28).
The President arrived in Japan yesterday (27), where he was welcomed by Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Akio Isomata, Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Japan Prof. Pivithuru Janaka Kumarasinghe, and senior officials of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the same day, he attended the “Sri Lanka Day” celebrations in Osaka, organised by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and the Sri Lankan Embassy in Japan, as part of Expo 2025, where he served as the Chief Guest.
