Sri Lankan authorities have announced that the Colombo Central Bus Terminal will be closed from midnight on the 9th until further notice.
According to Deputy General Manager Indika Chandimal, all Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) services — except for those operating on the joint timetable — will now operate from Bodhiraja Mawatha.
The sudden closure is expected to affect thousands of daily commuters who rely on Colombo’s main terminal as a hub for intercity and long-distance travel. Authorities have urged passengers to plan ahead and adjust their travel routes accordingly.
Further announcements will be made as the situation develops.
