The National Meteorological Centre announced that the sun will be directly over Sri Lanka for 10 consecutive days, starting 28th and lasting until September 7.
This phenomenon occurs due to the sun’s apparent southward relative motion.
According to the Department, the nearest locations in Sri Lanka where the sun will be directly overhead include Kumulamunai, Padinaddampore, Alankulam, Thanniyuttu, Vettappalai, and Mullaitivu around 12:11 PM today.
