Emirates has officially rolled out its Premium Economy cabin on the Mumbai–Dubai route starting today, deploying a retrofitted Boeing 777 with refreshed interiors across 22 weekly flights. This move gives Mumbai travellers access to a more spacious mid-tier option while ensuring consistency on long-haul connections via Dubai.
✈️ What Mumbaikars Can Expect
More space & comfort: Premium Economy seats offer greater width, deeper recline, generous legroom, and enhanced dining—striking the balance between Economy and Business Class.
Consistent cabin experience: With Emirates’ new A350s and refurbished A380s/777s, passengers can now enjoy a seamless product standard across onward connections.
Increased availability: The addition of Premium Economy on 22 weekly flights from Mumbai provides more access for India’s busiest business hub.
The launch comes as Mumbai–Dubai continues to rank as India’s busiest international city pair, with over 5.9 million passengers travelling between the two cities in the first half of 2025 alone. India remains Dubai International Airport’s largest market, making the upgrade a strategic move to capture high-demand VFR (visiting friends & relatives), business, and leisure traffic.
The Mumbai rollout is part of Emirates’ broader strategy to expand Premium Economy across its network. Upcoming enhancements include:
Amman – Four-class A380 with Premium Economy (from Oct 26, 2025)
Muscat – A350 on all 9 weekly flights (from Oct 30, 2025)
Bahrain – Additional retrofitted Boeing 777 every Thursday (from Dec 4, 2025)
With UAE airports handling 75.4 million passengers in H1 2025, Emirates’ cabin upgrades reflect rising regional demand and position Premium Economy as a value-driven choice for international travellers.
