Krafton India is gearing up to host two more official BGMI events in 2025, according to recent reports. With just a few months left in the year, these events are expected to be part of the company’s official roadmap for the second half, which is likely to be revealed soon.
So far, Krafton India has already organized two major tournaments this year — BGIS 2025 and BMPS 2025 — both of which drew massive attention from the esports community. Initially, a franchise-based tournament was expected in the latter half of the year, but reports suggest that it may have been delayed.
The highlight of the upcoming competitions is that the winner of one of these tournaments will qualify for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC 2025). This marks the first time since the game’s second unban that India will get a chance to compete at the global level. For years, Indian athletes have been restricted to regional tournaments, but now they can once again test their skills on the international stage.
Earlier this year, Team Aryan x AMG earned the honor of representing India at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 after winning the BMPS. Although they didn’t achieve the expected result, their participation was historic, marking India’s long-awaited return to the global esports lobby.
BGMI was originally banned in September 2020 under Section 69(A) of the IT Act, citing data security concerns. Since then, its re-entry and revival of esports in India has reignited the hopes of fans and athletes alike.
With these upcoming tournaments, Krafton India is not only boosting the domestic esports scene but also giving Indian players a renewed shot at international recognition in PMGC 2025.
