Sri Lanka’s powerlifting icon Ransilu Jayathilake has once again lifted the nation’s pride, securing his 7th Asian 120kg Championship title at the World Powerlifting Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Competing against some of the strongest athletes from across Asia, Jayathilake—widely celebrated as the “Deadlift Master”—proved his dominance by clinching gold with an extraordinary 310kg lift.
The prestigious championship, organized by NYFC Nepal, was held at the Nepal Police Club and spanned three days of intense competition. Athletes from various nations showcased their strength, discipline, and determination, but Jayathilake’s performance stood out as a true display of powerlifting excellence.
