Dubai, UAE – The Pakistan Medical Centre (PMC), operated by the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), is set to undergo a Dh45 million expansion that will triple its capacity, significantly increasing access to free and discounted medical services for over 15,000 UAE residents.
Dr. Faisal Ikram, President of PAD, revealed that the two-year Phase 2 expansion will add an 89,000 sqft new block featuring advanced diagnostics, radiology, a dialysis unit, enhanced physiotherapy, and an expansion of specialised services. This development will also include indoor sports facilities and basement parking, positioning PMC as the largest community centre for overseas Pakistanis.
Since opening in October 2020, PMC has served more than 140,000 people across over 100 nationalities, with monthly visits averaging 4,500 to 5,000. The centre welcomes not only Pakistani nationals but also expatriates from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, Africa, and UAE citizens seeking affordable healthcare.
Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan laid the foundation stone in 2017, with construction beginning in 2018. Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, praised PMC as “the most affordable medical treatment available” and commended its inclusive approach, charging nominal fees regardless of nationality or religion.
Highlighting the Pakistani community’s economic impact, Tirmizi noted that UAE-based Pakistanis sent a record $7.9 billion in remittances in the past year, marking a 20% increase from the previous year.
