Bangladeshi Tailor in Dubai Wins Dh20 Million Big Ticket Jackpot on First Attempt

A Bangladeshi tailor based in Dubai has just become an overnight millionaire after winning a staggering Dh20 million in the latest Big Ticket draw – and incredibly, it was his very first time purchasing a ticket.

Sabuj Miah Amir Hossain Dewan, who has been living and working in Dubai for the past 18 years, shared that he bought the ticket on a whim after hearing about Big Ticket from friends. “I thought, why not take a chance?” he said. He travelled to Abu Dhabi and bought the ticket in-store.

Living modestly and working hard to support his family back in Bangladesh, Sabuj said the win was life-changing. “I’m a humble tailor earning a modest salary, so you can imagine the emotions running through me right now. This win has the potential to completely transform my family’s future.”

The 36-year-old winner plans to discuss the next steps with his family before deciding how to use the prize money. “I may buy another ticket in the future, but right now, I’m just grateful for this incredible win,” he said.

But the good fortune didn’t stop there for the Bangladeshi community in the UAE.

Parvez Hosen Anower Hossain, a 42-year-old Bangladeshi businessman living in Sharjah since 2009, also struck gold – or rather, chrome – after winning a brand-new Range Rover Velar.

For four years, Parvez had been making monthly trips from Sharjah to Abu Dhabi with a friend to buy Big Ticket entries in person. “That dedication has truly paid off,” he said. While he hasn’t decided what to do with the luxury car just yet, he said he’ll continue participating in the draw. “It has brought so much happiness to my family. I encourage others to give it a try.”

Big Ticket August Promotions

Big Ticket’s August grand promotion offers a top prize of Dh15 million, with the live draw scheduled for September 3. On the same night, six consolation winners will each receive Dh100,000.

Customers who purchase two or more tickets in a single transaction from August 1 to 25 stand a chance to be selected to attend the live draw and win guaranteed cash prizes ranging from Dh50,000 to Dh150,000.

In addition to the cash prizes, the BMW M440i winner will be announced on September 3, and another Range Rover Velar will be given away on October 3.

Tickets can be purchased online or at Big Ticket counters at Zayed International Airport and Al Ain Airport.
