Former Sri Lanka Navy Commander Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne Arrested Over Murder Allegations

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested former Navy Commander Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne over his alleged involvement in an abduction and murder case that took place in the Pothuhera area.

At the time of the incident, Admiral Ulugetenne was serving as the Head of Naval Intelligence. Authorities believe the victim was held in a secret detention facility reportedly operated under his command.

Police confirmed that the investigation was launched following a letter that is said to have originated from within the alleged detention center. Several individuals have already been taken into custody in connection with the case.
