Elon Musk Makes Peace with Trump After Public Feud

After a fiery fallout, Elon Musk is taking steps to mend fences with former President Donald Trump. Just days after their war of words played out publicly — marked by insults, deleted posts, and policy clashes — Musk has expressed regret and extended an olive branch.

The feud began after Musk sharply criticized Trump’s multi-trillion-dollar “big, beautiful bill,” calling it a “disgusting abomination.” The policy, which ends EV tax credits and slashes federal spending, threatened Musk’s business interests — particularly Tesla. In response, Trump hinted at cutting federal contracts with Musk’s SpaceX and removing support for related projects.

Tensions reached a peak on June 5 when Musk publicly linked Trump’s name to classified Epstein files and supported his impeachment. However, within 48 hours, Musk began walking back his comments. By June 11, he had deleted his controversial posts and issued an early-morning apology on X, saying, “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”

Behind the scenes, Vice President JD Vance and Trump’s chief of staff Susie Wiles urged Musk to end the feud. A private call between Musk and Trump followed — their first since the blowup — signaling the beginning of a reconciliation.

Despite their differences, Trump seems open to peace. “No hard feelings,” he said in a podcast, adding that he’s keeping his red Tesla and White House Starlink connection.

Though full restoration of the alliance may take time, Musk’s softening stance on Trump’s policies and his decision to step back from confrontation suggest he sees more value in alignment than opposition — especially with MAGA voters and federal contracts at stake.

As Trump puts it, “I think he misses the place.”
