Russia has solidified its position as one of the leading study destinations for Indian students pursuing medical education, with around 23,500 currently enrolled in medical universities across the country, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The 26th Russian Education Fair 2025, held recently at the Russian House in New Delhi in collaboration with Rus Education, drew enthusiastic crowds of students and parents eager to explore study opportunities abroad. The event showcased top Russian government universities, including Orenburg State Medical University, Perm State Medical University, BB Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University, Pskov State University, and Mari State University. Representatives provided direct insights into courses, admission processes, facilities, and student life in Russia.
The fair, part of a broader initiative spanning nine Indian cities—Mumbai, Trivandrum, Kolkata, New Delhi, Patna, Ahmedabad, Indore, Chandigarh, and Jaipur—highlighted Russia’s growing popularity for affordable, English-medium medical programs with global recognition.
Dr. Elena Remizova, Director of the Russian House, emphasized the importance of such events in strengthening Indo-Russian ties. “Education is one of the four pillars of Indo-Russian cooperation, and with events like this, we aim to empower Indian students and deepen academic and cultural relations,” she said.
With rising competition, high fees, and limited spots in Indian institutions, many students are looking overseas to fulfill their academic ambitions. The Russian Education Fair provides an accessible platform for exploring quality educational options abroad. Future editions of the fair will expand to more cities, continuing to connect Indian aspirations with global opportunities.
