Tragedy in Ramboda: SLTB Bus Plunge Claims at Least 15 Lives, Dozens Injured

A devastating accident occurred this morning (May 11) in the Garandiella area of Ramboda, where a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus veered off the Nuwara Eliya–Gampola main road and plunged into a deep precipice.

The bus, which was traveling from Kataragama to Kurunegala via Nuwara Eliya, was carrying numerous passengers when the crash happened.

At least 15 people have been confirmed dead, while over 35 others have sustained injuries and are currently receiving emergency medical care at nearby hospitals. Police and rescue teams responded swiftly to the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
