Football Australia (FA) has officially named Superloop, a leading Australian telecommunications provider, as the official telecommunications partner for the prestigious Hahn Australia Cup. The announcement marks a dual win for FA, combining national-level sponsorship with a strategic digital transformation initiative.
In addition to title sponsorship, Superloop will power FA’s broadcast future through a separate agreement to deliver robust connectivity infrastructure. This move will support the rollout of AI-powered automated live broadcasts across key Football Australia and Member Federation venues—streaming matches in 4K quality via YouTube, OTT platforms, and other global media destinations.
The first rollout includes Darwin Football Stadium, now equipped with dedicated high-speed NBN connectivity, allowing the automated coverage of Men’s and Women’s Premier League matches in the NorthZone competition.
This partnership comes as FA centralises production of over 3,500 matches annually, spanning the National Premier Leagues, Hahn Australia Cup, and the Australian Championship. The AI camera technology will drastically reduce broadcast costs while enabling real-time match statistics collection and improved fan access.
Football Australia CEO James Johnson described the collaboration as a “pivotal moment” in the organisation’s digital journey, highlighting Superloop’s role in enhancing both operational efficiency and fan experience.
Superloop’s Group Executive Daisy Stampfer reaffirmed the company’s commitment to grassroots sports, noting that this partnership demonstrates how powerful connectivity can transform live sports broadcasting.
