Dubai has launched a groundbreaking initiative to support the nation’s gifted youth through a permanent endowment valued at Dhs70 million. The “Gifted Endowment” project was announced by the Dubai Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in collaboration with the Emirates Gifted Association.
The endowment will take the form of an investment property located on a 70,000-square-foot plot in Al Raffa, Dubai. The land, valued at Dhs40 million, was generously donated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Once completed, the project will include a mixed-use building with a ground floor, six additional floors, 36 residential units, retail shops, and parking spaces. Construction costs are estimated at Dhs30 million, and completion is expected within two years.
The income generated from the property will provide long-term financial support for programmes aimed at discovering and nurturing gifted Emiratis. These include scholarships, advanced training, and support for research and innovation projects led by local talent.
This sustainable initiative reflects Dubai’s long-term commitment to empowering the nation’s youth and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
