In an emotional interview with the BBC, Prince Harry said he still hopes for reconciliation with the Royal Family, despite feeling devastated over the UK court’s rejection of his appeal for state-funded security.
Harry revealed the ongoing family rift, claiming King Charles “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff” and lamenting that he may not have much time left with his father.
The Duke expressed frustration at the legal loss, calling the process a “stitch-up” and alleging Royal Household interference in the decision that downgraded his security status in 2020. He claimed the decision endangered his family and was made to pressure him into returning to royal duties.
“I forgive them,” Harry said. “There’s no point in continuing to fight—life is precious.”
Though he’s ruled out further legal action, he plans to ask the Home Secretary to review how the Ravec committee made its decision. Until he feels it’s safe, he says he won’t bring his wife and children to the UK.
Harry closed by sharing how much he misses his homeland: “It’s sad I can’t show my children the country I love.”
