eToro Opens Door for UAE Retail Investors to Trade Chinese and Asian Stocks via HKEX

UAE-based investors now have greater access to Chinese and Asian equities as eToro begins rolling out Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed assets, including ETFs and leveraged products, onto its platform—marking a major expansion in its global investment offerings.

In a move aimed at expanding investment opportunities for its users, global trading and investing platform eToro has announced the phased rollout of Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX)-listed stocks and exchange-traded products (ETPs) to its platform. This includes exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as well as Leveraged and Inverse Products (L&I Products), accompanied by real-time, high-quality pricing data provided by HKEX.

This initiative responds to growing demand among UAE retail investors seeking broader access to Asian markets. The inclusion of HKEX-listed assets offers exposure to some of Asia’s biggest and most innovative companies, reinforcing eToro’s efforts to make global investing more inclusive.

George Naddaf, Managing Director MENA at eToro, emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “The Hong Kong Stock Exchange is one of the world’s leading financial hubs—a gateway between China and international markets. With this new addition, UAE investors can now access a broader range of Chinese and Asian equities directly on the eToro platform. This expansion enhances our already diverse market offering and reinforces our commitment to making global investing more accessible.”

In a time of economic uncertainty, Naddaf pointed out, UAE investors can now diversify their portfolios beyond US-focused assets and tap into Asia’s long-term growth trajectory.

Yossi Brandes, eToro’s VP of Execution Services, added that this expansion aligns with the company’s goal to make over 20 stock exchanges accessible through a single interface. “By adding more HKEX-listed companies and ETPs to our platform, we’re strengthening our commitment to accessibility, innovation, and meeting the evolving needs of investors worldwide,” he said.

Winnie Sin, Head of Data Business at HKEX, welcomed the collaboration with eToro: “This partnership enhances access to the Hong Kong market for retail investors globally and empowers them with quality data to make informed decisions. As a superconnector between Mainland China and global markets, HKEX remains committed to strengthening capital market channels and building strong international partnerships.”

The addition of HKEX follows eToro’s earlier integration of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) stocks, which offered access to over 30 leading UAE companies across sectors such as energy, banking, healthcare, and technology. Together, these developments underscore eToro’s strategy of building a truly borderless investment platform that caters to both regional and international interests.
