No men allowed at this Bengaluru club: India’s first women-only nightclub goes viral.

Bengaluru is now home to India’s first women-only club, Miss and Mrs, located on Bannerghatta Road. This trailblazing initiative is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable space exclusively for women, sparking widespread discussions on social media.

A Space Designed for Women

Miss and Mrs isn’t just a women-only club in terms of its clientele—it also boasts an all-female staff, including DJs and service personnel. The club’s unique environment offers an inclusive and secure atmosphere where women can let loose, enjoy music, and socialize without worry.

Instagram user Deepanshi Singh brought the club into the limelight with a video showcasing its vibrant ambiance. The video highlights a lively setup featuring music, snacks, pizza, wine, beer, and champagne. Additional perks include a nail art section for patrons and a special offer of unlimited beer and snacks for just Rs 300 during the first hour, with prices doubling thereafter.

Social Media Buzz

Deepanshi’s video quickly went viral, amassing over 8.4 million views, 193,000 likes, and 218,000 shares. The comment section reflects mixed reactions from the public.

One user expressed delight, saying, “Oh my God, I always used to wonder why there isn’t a club exclusively for girls, where they can enjoy and dance freely without any fear or hesitation. Bring it to Indore too.” Another comment read, “Much needed! Coming from a man, tbh, finally a safe place for girls to have fun without compromising on their safety.”

However, some users questioned the exclusivity, calling it anti-men. This reflects the broader debates often sparked by women-only spaces.

Addressing Safety Concerns

Women-only spaces remain rare in India, where safety concerns often deter women from enjoying nightlife. Clubs like Miss and Mrs aim to empower women by providing a harassment-free environment. As one user pointed out, “This is a good initiative. Finally, there’s a safe place for girls to have fun without compromising their safety.”

The club encourages women to embrace their individuality and freedom, fostering an atmosphere where they can relax and enjoy themselves without fear or judgment.

Globally, women-only spaces have faced challenges, including lawsuits alleging gender discrimination. From Manhattan’s The Wing to Tasmania’s MONA’s Ladies Lounge, several women-only establishments have had to open their doors to men under legal pressure. Despite this, the success of Miss and Mrs highlights the demand for such spaces in India.
