One of the traditional exhibition tournaments of December has arrived. This first day of the World Tennis League held in Dubai did not bring any surprises. On the women’s side, Aryna Sabalenka started with a victory over Elena Rybakina (7-6(3)), while Iga Swiatek defeated Jasmine Paolini with a score of 7-5. On the men’s side, Andrey Rublev triumphed over Jordan Thompson with scores of 7-5, 2-0, and 10-6, and Casper Ruud prevailed against Alexander Shevchenko with a score of 6-4.
The team of the Falcons (Rybakina, Rublev, Shapovalov, and Garcia) defeated the Hawks team (Sabalenka, Nagal, Andreeva, and Thompson), while the Kites team (Ruud, Paolini, Kyrgios, and Halep) overcame the Eagles (Tsitsipas, Badosa, Shevchenko, and Swiatek).
