Poland Welcomes Historic Visit by PM Narendra Modi

Poland eagerly anticipates the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 21-22, marking a historic visit, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 45 years. Invited by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, this visit is set to strengthen the already warm and dynamic relationship between the two nations.

Lodz Governor Dorota Ryl expressed her excitement, highlighting Poland’s view of India as a vital partner for business and collaboration. “We see India as a great partner. The visit of Prime Minister Modi is of immense significance to Poland and our region. With over 3,000 people employed by Infosys here and 200 Indian MSMEs active in various sectors, our business ties are strong and growing,” she said.

The Deputy Mayor of Lodz, Adam Pustelnik, echoed these sentiments, stating, “This visit is a unique moment for us. We are eager to explore how we can contribute to mutual growth and strengthen our ties further.”

Amit Lath, Vice President of the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce, described the visit as “historic,” emphasizing the vast potential for collaboration in sectors like pharmaceuticals, IT, agriculture, and the food industry. “This visit is a milestone, opening doors to new opportunities for both countries,” he added.

This landmark visit coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland, offering an opportunity to reflect on their long-standing friendship and explore new avenues for cooperation.
