Former England cricketer Graham Thorpe dies aged 55

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Graham Thorpe, MBE, has passed away. Graham was an exceptional individual whose contributions to the world of cricket and beyond have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on August 1, 1969, Graham Thorpe was a dedicated and talented cricketer, renowned for his skill and sportsmanship on the field. His career with the England cricket team spanned from 1993 to 2005, during which he played 100 Test matches and became one of England’s most reliable batsmen. His remarkable performances and dedication to the sport earned him the honor of being appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of his services to cricket.

Beyond his professional achievements, Graham was a beloved husband, father, and friend. His kindness, humility, and passion for the game endeared him to countless fans and colleagues. The void left by his passing is immeasurable, and there seem to be no appropriate words to describe the deep shock and grief we feel at Graham’s death.

As we mourn the loss of a great sportsman and a wonderful human being, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. In this time of sorrow, we remember Graham not only for his contributions to cricket but also for the warmth and integrity he brought to every aspect of his life.
