It seems that pants are overrated for many women in Hollywood, and Anya Taylor-Joy is taking part in the trend.
We’ve seen Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Kristen Stewart, and more go out in public wearing outfits sans pants — whether it be wearing short shorts, a long button-up short, or just simply wearing a leotard, the pantsless look has swept the high-fashion world.
During the U.K. premiere of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, the film’s star Anya Taylor-Joy stepped onto the red carpet wearing a black and white bodysuit from Giambattista Valli’s Spring/Summer 2024 Couture collection. She paired the stunning piece with black tights and pointed black heels from Christian Louboutin.
Taylor-Joy’s glam was as elegant as the floral arrangement donning the top of the bodysuit, opting for a Marilyn Monroe-type winged liner and eyeshadow look and a bright red lip. She wore a sleek, long ponytail and paired the outfit with diamond earrings and a chain-style necklace.
Taylor-Joy’s appearance in London comes right after attending the Cannes Film Festival in the South of France. The actor was promoting her new film and kicked off the chic event with a strapless body-hugging orange dress from ATLEIN’s Spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection. But the star of that outfit was her oversized sun-blocking raffia hat by Jacquemus.
The highly-anticipated Furiosa film comes as part of the apocalyptic Mad Max franchise that was popularized in the 70s and 80s. Anya Taylor-Joy spoke with the New York Times about the making of the action film and made cryptic comments about the difficulties she faced on set. “I’ve never been more alone than making that movie,” Taylor-Joy told the Times at the time. Taylor-Joy didn’t want to elaborate further but said that the two years between filming the movie and its premiere was essential, saying that she knew she was “going to need the two years that it took for the movie to come out to deal with it.”
