India’s renowned dairy brand, Amul, has been announced as the official sponsor of the Sri Lanka men’s cricket team for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the US and the West Indies.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has sealed the deal with Amul, a household name in India known for its dairy products, marking a strategic move to elevate the team’s profile on the global stage. Ashley de Silva, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket, hailed the partnership as a significant boost for both parties, emphasizing the potential for market growth and enhanced brand visibility.
Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Amul, expressed pride in the collaboration, citing Amul’s successful track record in dairy development and its commitment to supporting small and marginal farmers. This partnership builds upon Amul’s previous association with the Sri Lankan team during the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Sri Lanka’s journey in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to commence on 3 June in New York, where they will face South Africa in their opening match. The tournament, spanning from 1-29 June, will be hosted across venues in the West Indies and the USA.
