Cruise worker exposes ‘disgusting’ act passengers do on-board

[ad_1]

A cruise employee has revealed that things are not always smooth sailing while on the high seas. In fact, the trip can often become rather stomach-churning – and it’s not because of any waves encounters.

You see, while some passengers are delightful, others are downright disgusting and refuse to practice basic hygiene.

Lucy Southerton, 28, was shocked to watch cruisegoers kick off their shoes and venture all around the vessel barefoot, for the entirety of their holiday. It was as if it was their own private lounge room – never mind the thousands of other feet that have already walked there before.

She said those who dare to bare their tootsies will be “made fun of” by the crew members for being dirty, so it’s best to avoid such an act unless you’re searching for humiliation.

“Crew members generally make fun of passengers who deem it acceptable to walk around the cruise ship with no shoes on,” she told the Daily Star.

“They will weave in and out of shops with no shoes on they will even think it appropriate to go to the theatre with no shoes on because technically they are indoors.”

“However any space outside of your cabin really, you should have your shoes on. And if you do want to walk around the cruise ship with no shoes on just now that the crew members will be making fun of you.”

She also advised travellers to avoid being impolite, as you never know when you may need them and you could miss out on deals.

Lucy, from Birmingham in the UK, has worked on cruise ships since the age of 19, and her first job was a massage therapist at the on-board spa. She reveals all about her life at sea on Instagram at @cruisingascrew.

It comes after TikToker Marc Sebastian shared a warning about one word that cruisegoers should never say while on-board.

“You’re not supposed to talk about the Titanic. Who knew that? I didn’t,” Sebastian said in the viral TikTok, which has over 4 million views.

“I brought up to an entire room of people having lunch that our ship was only 100 feet longer than Titanic,” he shared. “When I tell you that — utensils dropped, waiters gasped, it’s dead silent.”

“Well, it wasn’t like that was in the f**king handbook. Not that I read the handbook, clearly,” he added.
