A dream home designed for champion dual-code footballer Israel Folau is about to come to life on a stretch of beach north of Brisbane.

The jawdropping property known as ‘Horizon’ was created by local builder/developer, Graya, for Folau and his wife, Maria, to be built on a block of land in Prince Edward Parade, Scarborough, that they purchased for $4.25 million in 2022.

But the pair changed their minds and sold the beachfront block at a small loss for $4.2 million in September last year to the owner of the neighbouring property, local developer Lindsay Birley.

That property was also built by Graya — ‘Seachange’.

Instead, the Folaus ended up splashing $6.75 million on a luxurious home designed by architect, Shaun Lockyer, in Brookfield in November.

That property had been owned by Caroline and Alan McCulloch — the couple behind women’s footwear label, Frankie4 — and attracted more than 10,000 online views within its first week of listing on realestate.com.au.

Now, Graya is pushing ahead with building ‘Horizon’ and have revealed a first look at the amazing home.

The Brookfield home the Folaus purchased for $6.75m late last year.

The home will have five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a four-car garage, along with a gym, pool, wine cellar, two lawn areas, and direct beach access.

Construction is due to start in the coming weeks.

Folau also sold his Pullenvale acreage, west of Brisbane, in August last year for $1.9 million.

It was the first property the couple bought when they decided to make the move north of the border, following Folau’s departure from the NSW Waratahs.

The couple paid $1.5m for the 4ha block with a quaint 1950s cottage in 2021.

Folau currently plays as a fullback in Japan, for Urayasu D-Rocks in League One.
