Colombo, Feb. 7 (Daily Mirror) – St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota continued their winning streak when they recorded their fifth outright win by defeating St. Benedict’s College by an innings and five runs in the Under-19 Inter-Schools cricket encounter concluded at Kotahena.

The match was also played for the Charlie Joseph – L. P. Rayan Memorial Trophy, which was introduced in 2014. The Antonians regained the Trophy after a lapse of seven years.

The Benedictines were bowled out for 75 in the first innings to which the Antonians replied with 155. The Benedictines batting the second time were bundled out for 76 runs.

Meanwhile, Nalanda pulled off an innings and eight-run win over Maliyadeva at Campbell Place and St. Anthony’s, Wattala and St. John’s, Jaffna recorded outright wins against Dharmapala MV, Pannipitiya and Siri Piyarathana MMV, Padukka respectively.
