Suspect Sentenced for Stealing Unreleased Beyoncé Tracks from Vehicle

A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in prison after stealing hard drives believed to contain unreleased music by global superstar Beyoncé.

The accused, Kelvin Evans, admitted to charges including unlawfully entering a vehicle and criminal trespass in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to his jail term, the court imposed three years of probation.

The incident occurred on July 8, 2025, when Evans targeted a rented Jeep Wagoneer used by members of Beyoncé’s touring team. The vehicle belonged to choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue, who were in the city ahead of the singer’s Cowboy Carter tour stop.

When they returned, they discovered the vehicle’s rear window had been smashed and several items stolen. Among the missing belongings were laptops, headphones, designer clothing, and storage devices reportedly containing unreleased tracks and sensitive personal data linked to the artist. Authorities have yet to recover the stolen materials.

Investigators later connected Evans to the crime through surveillance footage, which showed a red Hyundai approaching the rental vehicle in a parking garage. Additional footage reportedly captured him handling suitcases at a nearby apartment complex. Tracking technology from the stolen laptops further supported the case by placing the items at that location.

Court records indicate Evans has a prior criminal history. He reached a plea agreement shortly before the trial was set to begin, after initially denying the charges earlier in the year.

As part of the sentencing, the court has ordered Evans to avoid any contact with the victims and stay away from the location where the theft took place. He has remained in custody since his arrest in August 2025.

The theft happened just days before Beyoncé launched her multi-night performance run in Atlanta, drawing added attention to the case.
