The President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, concluded his three-day official state visit to Sri Lanka and departed the country this morning.
The Maldivian leader, accompanied by the First Lady and a 20-member delegation, left the Bandaranaike International Airport at 07:43 a.m., boarding SriLankan Airlines flight UL-101 to Malé.
During his visit, President Muizzu held high-level discussions with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, and other senior officials. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding ties between the two countries.
The visit is seen as a significant step in further enhancing the long-standing relationship between Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
In his departure remarks, President Muizzu said he leaves Sri Lanka with a renewed commitment to deepening diplomatic and economic cooperation between the two nations.
He also expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Sri Lanka for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation during the visit.
President Muizzu added that he looks forward to turning the shared commitments into meaningful outcomes that benefit both nations.
