Sri Lankan born Indian TV actress found dead

Indian TV actress Subashini Balasubramaniyam has been found dead at an apartment in Chennai, India.

The 36-year old Sri Lankan born actress originally moved to Chennai with aspirations of building a name for herself in the Tamil entertainment industry. 

Subashini rose to fame for her performance as the antagonist in the television serial Kayal. She had also appeared in films such as Ellaam Mela Irukuravan Paathuppan (2023) and Web (2023).

Initial reports published on Indian media indicate that she died by suicide while on a video call with her husband, Bipin Chandran. However, a thorough investigation is underway to establish the exact reason that led to her death.
