A new paid parking scheme will come into effect across selected commercial zones and residential villa areas in Mohamed bin Zayed City starting April 6, according to an announcement by Q Mobility.
The initiative is aimed at improving traffic circulation and better organizing vehicle movement in the rapidly growing district. Authorities believe that introducing a structured parking system will help reduce prolonged congestion while ensuring smoother access for both residents and visitors.
Under the updated system, parking will be charged at a standard rate of Dh2 per hour. Motorists will be required to make payments digitally using platforms such as the TAMM and Darb applications, which are widely used for transport-related services in Abu Dhabi.
Residents living within the designated areas will have the option to apply for villa and residential parking permits. These permits will be accessible through the same digital platforms once the system is officially launched.
This move follows a similar rollout in parts of the Mussafah industrial area earlier this year, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s broader efforts to regulate parking demand and improve traffic conditions in busy commercial hubs.
The system will be operated by Q Mobility, a company specializing in integrated and sustainable transport solutions, under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre, which functions under the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
Officials noted that the introduction of paid parking is expected to enhance the efficiency of parking management, improve the overall experience for road users, and support business activities by making access to commercial and industrial locations more convenient.
