10 of 30 Key Presidential Promises Fulfilled, Another 10 Underway – Anura Meter

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has fulfilled one-third of his key election promises within his first year in office, with further commitments currently in progress, according to the latest update of the Anura Meter manifesto tracker.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has completed 10 out of 30 major election promises by November 2025, while another 10 promises are currently in progress, according to the latest findings of the Anura Meter manifesto tracking initiative.

The assessment reveals that nine pledges have shown no progress so far, and one promise has been classified as failed. The review tracks 30 key commitments from the President’s 2024 election manifesto and includes policy measures announced in the 2026 National Budget. However, the evaluation was conducted before accounting for the effects of Cyclone Ditwah.

The promises selected for tracking reflect areas of national importance and strong public interest, covering sectors such as economic reform, governance, anti-corruption efforts, law and order, and social protection.

The Anura Meter is a transparency initiative by Manthri.lk, aimed at monitoring the implementation of presidential election pledges. It follows earlier tracking projects such as Maithri Meter and Gota Meter, which assessed the performance of former Presidents Maithripala Sirisena and Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Seven of the 30 promises currently monitored were added based on public feedback, and citizens are encouraged to suggest additional pledges they believe should be tracked.

Manthri.lk, Sri Lanka’s only parliamentary monitoring platform, is managed by Verité Research, the country’s largest independent think tank. The full and updated status of all tracked promises is available in Sinhala, Tamil, and English on the official Anura Meter website.
